Upper Union Street’s 20 plus eateries, many with an international theme and most with patio as well as indoor seating, will be serving strawberry concoctions all day.Even the family dog gets into the act with free strawberry shaped dog cookies at Head to Tail Pet Wellness Center where dogs are invited to “sit” for a portrait by caricaturist artist Rich Conley.A popular gourmet market at the Dean Street corner will offer seasonal produce (including fresh picked strawberries) and various agricultural products (including strawberry pastries and other baked goods).A Farmers’ Market is located in the Coldwell Banker Prime Properties parking lot.
 
On the music scene, local band “Everest Rising” will be at Trustco from 1-3 PM; while down the street “Doc Springs Rehabilitated Dixieland Band” will entertain at Northeastern Fine Jewelers also from 1-3 PM.Earlier in the day “The Gypsy Scholars” are scheduled for Hot Harry’s Fresh Burritos from 10AM – Noon, Ray Y Las Chicas at Tesoros from 11AM -1PM, and Pony rides (to benefit the Upper Union Street Scholarship Fund) and a Petting Zoo of baby farm animals are set for 1019 Keyes Avenue. A free inflatable attraction will be set up in the parking lot of Home Style Pizza, 1720 Union Street.A clown with face painting and balloon sculpture (for charity), free balloons, Morris the Moose, and free popcorn add to the fun at Phillips Hardware, 1728 Union Street.The Heldeberg Marionettes will be strolling.
 
“Artists Row” will be located in front of the former Fire Fly Florist / Salamack’s location where local artists will be showing and selling. A new arts initiative Photos A Go-Go with the photography of local artist Anne Norsworthy-Rigley exhibit at several Upper Union Street businesses will launch at Strawberry Fest.Many of the shops along Upper Union Street will be offering sidewalk sales and retail promotions including fashions for men, women and children, party dresses modeled at Ferri Formals, Fashion Show to benefit Cancer research at Style That Makes Cents, 906 Woodland Ave., a Trunk Show of hand-painted silk clothing at Musler’s, 1726 Union Street,psychic readings by appointment and city dog licenses at Head to Tail Pet Wellness Center, a do it yourself Strawberry Royalty photo op at Hair Razor’s, and pastel artist Sandi Graham and an aroma therapy experience at Sow’s Ear Studio.
